L'Hotel: La
Posta Vecchia, villa di Palo Laziale del XVII secolo, è
membro della prestigiosa Associazione
Relais&Chateaux.
Affacciata sul Mar Tirreno, è circondata da sei ettari di
giardino all'italiana in cui è possibile ammirare reperti
archeologici della Roma Imperiale.
Storia: Dal
1960 al 1975 La Posta Vecchia è stata residenza in Italia
di Jean Paul Getty, che l'arredò con l’aiuto del celebre
critico d’arte Federico Zeri, all’epoca responsabile del
Museo Getty in California.
Ogni arredo acquistato da J. P. Getty è ancora oggi a La
Posta Vecchia, rendendola un albergo unico al mondo per
la sua eccezionale valenza storica e artistica.
La Posta Vecchia fu costruita nel 1640 dal Principe
Odescalchi, a confine col suo castello di Palo Laziale,
appositamente per accogliere amici e viaggiatori.
Inizia a deteriorarsi nel 1918, a tal punto da cadere
presto in rovina.
Nel 1960 Jean Paul Getty acquistò La Posta Vecchia ed un
ampio parco adiacente, e a lui va il merito di aver
riportato La Posta Vecchia ai suoi splendori secenteschi
grazie ai lavori di restauro durati circa 5 anni.
Le Camere:
Grazie al sodalizio tra Jean Paul Getty e il critico
d’arte
Federico Zeri, ognuna delle 7 suites e delle 12 camere ha
un proprio inconfondibile stile.
Le 12 Camere: Con vista sul mare o sul parco,
sono arredate in stile classico e con mobili
d'antiquariato. Uniscono il fascino e il lusso del passato
a tutte le comodità del presente
Le 7 Suites:
- Getty Suite: Identica in ogni dettaglio a come la
realizzò Jean Paul Getty: oltre 100 mq, guardaroba del
Seicento e bagno rivestito con marmo di Carrara.
- Medici Suite: Ampia Suite di oltre 80 mq, con splendido
letto del '700, salotto e spettacolare bagno con vasca in
marmo rosa
Il Ristorante
Cesar: Affacciato sul mare, offre piatti delle
cucina mediterranea, preparati in gran parte con i
prodotti
biologici dell'orto dell'albergo.
La Piscina
Coperta: Ampia piscina d'acqua dolce
riscaldata,
di grande suggestione ed atmosfera, con vasta terrazza e
magnifica vista sul mare.
Il Beauty
Centre: Offre agli ospiti massaggi per il
corpo,
trattamenti al viso, manicure e pedicure.
Il centro è aperto dalle 10 alle 13 e dalle 15 alle
20.
I Transfer:
La Posta Vecchia organizza visite guidate al Museo Etrusco
di Cerveteri, al sito archeologico di Tarquinia e a Roma.
Assicura inoltre il servizio di transfer da e per il Porto
di Civitavecchia e l'Aeroporto di Roma Fiumicino, nonche'
atterraggi con elicotteri privati nell'eliporto
dell'albergo.

Convegni: Si trova all'ultimo piano
dell'albergo, può ricevere fino a 50 persone disposte a
platea e 30 con tavolo a ferro di cavallo. All'interno,
schermo di 2mx2, flip-chart, lettore e
proiettore.

The Hotel:
La
Posta Vecchia in Palo Laziale is a seventeenth century
villa, sensitively tranformed into a luxury hotel in 1990.
Since 1992, it has been a member of the Relais &
Chateaux Association.
The villa overlooks the Tyrrenean sea and is surrounded by
15 acres of Italian gardens.
An archaeological museum containing many interesting Roman
relics can be found on the premises.
History:
Between 1960 and 1975 La Posta Vecchia was the Italian
residence of Jean Paul Getty. It was furnished at the time
with the help of Professor Federico Zeri, curator of the
Getty Museum in California.
All of the furnishings have remained unchanged since
Getty's day, giving La Posta Vecchia not only its
luxurious
allure, but historical significance as well.
In 1640 Prince Odescalchi built a guesthouse for his
castle
at Palo.
Around the year 1918, the building fell into
disuse and was left to deteriorate.
In 1960, Jean Paul Getty convinced Prince Ladislao
Odescalchi to sell him what had become the ruins of La
Posta Vecchia along with its surrounding land.
The restoration process, which took five years to
complete,
returned the residence to its original splendor,
transforming it into to La Posta Vecchia as we know it
today.
Guest Rooms:
Thanks to the collaboration between J.P.Getty and the art
critic Federico Zeri, each of the 7 Suites and 12 Rooms
has
its own distinct style.
12 Rooms: All the Rooms are double occupancy
and
afford dazzling views of either the Tyrrenean Sea or the
surrounding gardens. They are decorated in the classic
style, enriched with splendid antiques.
The rooms offer the luxury of a previous era, while
providing all present day conveniences
7 Suites:
- Getty Suite: This Suite is completely unchanged since
Jean Paul Getty's day. It is over 500 sq ft, with a huge
seventeenth century armoire and a wonderful Carrara marble
bathroom.
- Medici Suite: This suite features an impressively carved
18th century bed, a spacious living-room and a marvellous
bathtub out of pink marble
The Cesar Restaurant
: At the Cesar Restaurant, one can enjoy the
inspired Mediterranean cuisine while looking out over the
azure sea. Much of the produce used by the Chef comes from
La Posta Vecchia's organic vegetable garden.
The Indoor Pool
: The indoor pool is glass encased, allowing
one
to enjoy the lovely view of the surrounding terrace and
sea
beyond.
The pool is heated during the winter
months.
The Beauty Centre
: The Posta Vecchia Beauty Centre offers:
Massage, Facials, Manicure and Pedicure.
The Centre is open from: 10 am to 1pm and from 3 pm to 8
pm.
Transfer: La
Posta Vecchia can organise private guided tours of the
Etruscan Museum at Cerveteri, the Tarquinia Necropolis,
the
local coastline and the capital city of Rome.
Transfers to and from the Port of Civitavecchia or Rome
Fiumicino Airport as well as private helicopter landings
in
the hotel grounds can be arranged through the Concierge.
Conference
Rooms: Situated on the top floor, the
Conference
Room can seat up to 50 people in rows, or 30 at its ample
sized U-shaped table. The tranquil environment of La Posta
Vecchia makes it an ideal place to hold a business
meeting.
