Notizie Storiche: Il fabbricato, sede dell’Hotel Castello, fu realizzato nei primi anni del XV secolo (1425) e destinato a convento dei padri Conventuali, seguaci di San Francesco d’Assisi.
Dopo la soppressione degli ordini Monastici ad opera del governo Francese nel 1809 venne adibito a sede della gendarmeria reale ed a casa di arresto. Seguirono altri usi, finche nel 1922, acquistato da privati, diviene sede di albergo.
Quindi trattasi di un fabbricato storico, che ristrutturato radicalmente di recente offre tutti i comfort con l’insegna di HOTEL CASTELLO.

Ubicazione: La posizione centrale dell’albergo è realmente strategica. Dalla stazione ferroviaria ci si impiega dieci minuti (mt. 450) per arrivare a piedi in HOTEL. Dall’HOTEL poi basta percorrere 100 mt. per entrare nel centro storico attraverso l'antica porta (Porta Grande) verso il Castello Normanno Svevo e la Cattedrale, verso il museo archeologico e biblioteca Comunale.
Da un lato dell’Albergo è visibile il panorama dei giardini pubblici sede di passeggio a tutte le ore.
Nella ristrutturazione non si è esitato ad imporre le ragioni dell’estetica rispetto a quella del risparmio, pur di caratterizzare l’Albergo per quel che intrinsecamente è: un Albergo ricavato in un palazzo antico, del quale doveva mantenere l’atmosfera ed i segni del tempo.

Historical News: The building which is the centre of the Hotel Castello was built in the early years of the XV century (1425) as a monastery for followers of St. Francis of Assisi.
After the suppression of the monastic orders by the French administration (Napoleon I) in 1809 it was converted into police station and a prison. Other uses followed until, in 1922, it was acquired privately and became an hotel.
The historical building has recently been radically restored and now offers all the comfort of a three star Hotel.

A Privileged Position: It is situated in the centre of Mesagne, only 10 minutes walk from the railway station.
Within 100 m. of the Hotel is the entrance, through its great door, to the Svevo Norman Castle, the Cathedral, Archeological Museum and the Town Library are also within easy reach.
From the Hotel you enjoy a panoramic view on the town centre public gardens which are readily accessible.
In the restructuring, for aesthetic reasons, the substance of the Hotel has been preserved.
