Dove siamo:
Villa Feltrinelli is superbly situated near Gargnano, on the western shore of Lake Garda, the largest and eastern most lake in the Lake District of northern Italy. Bordered by Lombardia on the west and Veneto on the east, the crystal clear, mountainous lake is a perfect setting for this extraordinary country house hotel property. Ambience: Villa Feltrinelli is a commanding neo- gothic, turn-of-the-century villa set in a beautiful eight- acre park with picturesque ancillary buildings, graced with a 1000 feet of lake front. The tranquil, private setting of the gated park is unique in the area. The interiors of the villa feature elaborately painted walls and ceilings, etched glass door panels, and ornately carved woodwork throughout. History: The villa and the park were built by the Feltrinellis, a prominent and prosperous family with roots in Gargnano. The property was used principally as a summer residence. Towards the end of World War II, Benito Mussolini and his family lived in the Villa, as he attempted, in vain, to establish his "Republica di Salò." The Kitchen: The focus of the kitchen will be on the creative use of the abundance offered by the lake region (fish from the lake, local olives and lemons, fruits and vegetables in season, cheeses and wines in neighboring areas, game in the mountains just above the lake). The bakery will be one of the highlights of the kitchen, producing signature breads (artisan style) and fresh baked specialties every day! The Service: A dining room service staff, reminiscent of a turn-of-the-century household staff, will offer service throughout the different meal times in the villa's main dining room, on the open-air dining terrace overlooking the lake, in the private dining room, in guest rooms, by the pool, or just about anywhere on the property! Signature cocktails, teas and coffees and light snacks will be served in the "Salotto," the "Sala da Giochi"(card room) and on the Veranda, all of which face the lake. From time to time, a pianist will offer guests jazz interludes on the Bösendorfer piano in the "Salotto." A small library will provide books and magazines for the guest's enjoyment, and will serve as a small "screening room" for classic and art films. Private Dining: An elegant room for dinner parties and luncheons will seat up to 14 people and could be offered as a space for small, very private conference activities. Guestrooms: 20 luxurious rooms and suites in five unique buildings, all with spectacular views of the lake, mountains or gardens. Each with a sumptuous bathroom and many with separate dressing rooms. The Pool: The cool, inviting swimming pool and sun patio will be located in the villa's manicured gardens, with a view to the lake, adds a more exotic tone on the property. Designed with stone tiles from Bali and surrounded by different species of palm trees, the pool will speak to a time when wealthy Italian families loved to display exotic elements in their parks to amuse and impress their friends. The environment: The refreshing lake provides guests with many relaxing activities, such as fishing, swimming, sailing, rowing, wind surfing and power boating. The surrounding mountains offer opportunities for hiking and mountain bike expeditions. Golf and tennis facilities are also close by. As the lake turns colder in the fall and winter seasons, the hills and mountains above provide fascinating worlds of discovery, cultural, historical, and rural treasures! Services: Room service, laundry and dry cleaning services, airport and train station pick up, boating tours of the lake, guest memberships in local tennis and golf clubs.
